Dr Ray Li is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute for China Business of the University of Hong Kong (HKU), leveraging three decades of global corporate finance and strategy advisory expertise. He has held numerous board director positions at public and start-up companies, contributing to governance and innovation in financial, technology, and health sectors.

Dr Li’s distinguished career includes serving as Group Finance Director and Executive Committee Member at PingAn Group, where he oversaw finance strategies for the conglomerate’s insurance, banking, asset management, and technology divisions. He was the Board Director at PingAn Securities, PingAn Trust, PingAn Financial Services, PingAn Technology, PingAn Health, LuFax, OneConnect, and led the group-wide Smart Finance initiative across 20+ subsidiaries, enhancing decision support and operational efficiency through digital transformation. Earlier, he held senior roles such as VP-Chief Marketing Officer and CFO at SF Express International, Director of Risk & Compliance at CIBC, and advising Global Fortune 500 and technology startups companies.

As members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA), Dr Li holds a PhD in Finance from ISM International Management Institute, an MBA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Minnesota State Universities. Dr. Li is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
