Nosipho Maketo-van den Bragt is the CEO and owner of Chocolate Tribe, a leading African studio in Animation, Visual Effects (VFX), and Content Development. An admitted attorney turned creative entrepreneur and writer, she thrives on synthesising ideas, adaptability, and storytelling, while advocating for creatives across industries.

Under her leadership, Chocolate Tribe has produced award-winning international films, episodics, and commercials, establishing itself as a powerhouse on the African continent. With a focus on building the next generation of talent, Nosipho prioritises mentorship, skills development, and youth empowerment within the animation and VFX sector.

In 2021, she founded AVIJOZI NPC, Chocolate Tribe's CSR initiative. AVIJOZI connects African and global talent across Animation, VFX, Interactive Tech, and Content Development, creating pathways into projects, employment, and enterprise. Its annual festival, attended by just under 5,000 participants, and school roadshows provide free access to masterclasses, mentorship, industry professionals, and internships making world-class opportunities accessible to aspiring creatives.

Nosipho's vision extends beyond commercial success to narrative change, social responsibility, and community upliftment. She actively contributes to global creative networks and champions diversity within the industry. She is also a mentor for Women in Animation and was featured in the Nasdaq-sponsored "I AM" campaign, showcased in Times Square.

Her achievements include being selected for the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women (EMEIA) Class of 2024 and her recent appointment to the FMX Advisory Board 2025. These accolades reflect her influence and leadership in shaping the animation and VFX landscape both in Africa and globally.
